Barenaked Powerlifting Bar 2.0 By B.o.S.
Great Performing Bar. Shenandoah Powerhouse Favorite!
I waited more than 3 months to review the Barenaked Powerlifting Bars we purchased for the club. I wanted to be sure that the bars held up to the heavy lifting and daily abuse our lifters can dish. THE ANSWER IS YES. Hands down, the Barenaked Powerlifting Bar is the favorite for heavy squatting. The agressive center knurl, ribbed shaft and rigid construction keep the bar solid and predictable regardless of the load. It took a few members a while to get used to the knurl, but after a couple of squat sessions, the bar's performance won them over.
Hey, Thanks for the 5-star review. We take pride in the quality and durability of our bars. Again, thanks for the great review. Hope to see you guys again soon!
Love this bar. The centre knurling really grabs my back when squatting. Can’t beat the value of this bar!
Hey Parker, Thanks for the awesome review. This bar is definitely the best bang for the buck. Again, thanks for the 5-star review. Lift on!
Power Bar 2.0
Bar is pretty solid. Great knurling. However, the knurling seems to be a bit crooked on the center knurl. This doesn't effect the use of the bar. It did come a bit rusty but I managed to get most of that cleaned up. Again this doesn't effect how the bar performs. I like how the sleeves are made. They help keep the plates still and on the barbell without collars.
Hey Patrick, Thanks for the 5-star review. We are glad that the bar exceeded your expectations. Again, thanks for the awesome review.
This is a quality barbell at a great price. Love the aggressive Knurling. Very fast shipping. Thanks guys!
Hey Chase, Thanks for the awesome review. We take pride in the quality of our bars. Again, thanks for the great review. Hope to see you again soon.
I've used several power bars from Rogue, Eleiko and Texas but this bar is similar to the Rogue Ohio Power Bar when it comes to knurling. The bare steel is aggressive, but not sharp, more of a volcano knurl. Pros: 1. Affordable with shipping. 2. Shaft collars are thinner, making it similar to comp specs. 3. Wider center knurl making squats more secure 4. Fast shipping 5. Amazing performance. 6. Knurling is more volcano, amazing for hook grip and it's not sharp like a Texas or Eleiko. Cosmetic Cons: **Just a heads up, the issues I had are ALL COMESTIC. It did not affect my training in anyway** 1. Center knurl wasn't consistent, one side was passive, the other was aggressive, only noticed it when I first got the bar, but it holds secure, even with 400lbs. 2. One of my sleeves had a smooth portion, but again I did not notice this until I did my initial cleaning. There was initial cleaning that was necessary, but Brandon Campbells recent video on cleaning a barbell will show you how you can clean your bar. Overall a great bar and worth the money! If you are looking at getting a home gym or looking to upgrade, this is your go to bar.
Hey Virgil, Thanks for the awesome review. This bar is definitely the best bang for the buck. Again, thanks for the great review. Lift on!

A revolutionary powerlifting bar at an affordable price.
The B.o.S. Powerlifting Bar is the best Powerlifting bar you can get for under $300. A bold claim, I know, so here’s why having this bar in your gym will put you on a gainz train to muscleville.
Designed explicitly for powerlifting and to meet IPF specs, it is intended for people who’s three favourite words are bench, squat and deadlift.
An aggressive knurl with a bare steel finish gives you a superior grip and will prepare and callous your hands for meet day.
With a 210K PSI tensile strength, 1,500lb weight capacity and snap ring design, the Barenaked powerlifting bar is tough enough for both novice and world-class powerlifters
A thinner block allows for more plates to be loaded onto the bar and less whip, while the ribbed shaft helps prevent plates from shifting while lifting.
A powerlifting barbell differs from an Olympic weightlifting barbell in that it is more rigid to better accommodate the heavier weights. Our power bar is 1mm thicker than the Olympic weightlifting bar and has slightly different markings on the bar. Power bars do not have needle bearing and instead have brass bushing as they don’t really need for the sleeves to spin so freely as they do on Olympic bars.
Please note: being bare steel barbell we take extra precautions to reduce any small oxidization while in storage/transit by coating the barbell in oil. Even still, tiny spots may be visible when receiving. We advise to clean the bar with a microfiber cloth and some simple green cleaner and remove any spots with a BBQ brush.
