Barenaked Powerlifting Bar 2.0 By B.o.S.
The Bar is great. Finally moved up from standard smooth commercial gym bars to this! The knurling feels great and my grip confidence has gone way up. The bushings are smooth and there is lots of room for more and more and more plates in the future.
Hello Christopher, Thanks for the amazing review. We are glad to know that the powerlifting bar is a great help in reaching your fitness goal. Again, thanks for the awesome review. Have a great day!
My experience continues to be great. I I have two Barenaked powerlifting bars in my garage gym - one in the squat rack and one on the deadlift platform. They allow me to train with a competition spec bar. The knurling is aggressive (feels the same as a bare steel Ohio power bar that I use for the bench press). The 2nd bar (the one I just bought) required minimal cleaning to use. The 1st bar required a lot more work, and it cleaned up nicely! I’m very satisfied with both of the BoS bars!
Hello Robert, Thanks for the 5-star review. We are happy to know that you are enjoying the power bar. Again, thanks for the awesome review. Have a great day!
Great bar, aggressive knurling and incredibly stiff. Don’t expect any whip out of this bar if you’re deadlifting with it. Took it over 500 the first day I pulled on it and it had zero give. Very comparable to bars used in the USAPL. Only knock against it, which is purely cosmetic, is that the bar itself showed up incredibly rusted. It was all superficial rust but it did take over an hour with WD-40, 3n1 oil, goo gone and a wire brush to get it all off. Once cleaned off it looks great.
Hello Bryan, Thanks for the 5-star review. We are glad to know that you are satisfied with the bar. Again, thanks for the awesome review. Have a great day.
The knurling on this barbell is great! I'm used to using old worn commercial gym barbells though, so your experience may differ. The bar comes well oiled to help avoid any oxidation during shipping and protect it. I've had the bar for a couple months and keep it in my gym-shed. With the winter here it's help up and I've yet to see any signs of rust.
Hello Seda, Thanks for the 5-star review. We are glad to know that you are enjoying the bar. Again, thanks for the awesome review, Hope to see you again soon!
So far I’m loving it. Has nice whip for deadlifts and some bounce when you squat but not excessive. Plates roll well for exercises like cleans but is still stationary enough not to cause issues when benching. My only complaint was with the packaging of the bar. One end had been taped closed as opposed to being capped with plastic like the other end. There was visible, albeit minor, scraping on the end of the bar where it clearly slid out of the unsecured end. Minor rust/patina on the bar as well but that was just superficial. As of now I am pleased with the performance of the bar. Hopefully longevity is a quality it also possesses!
Hello Peter, Thanks for the 5-star review. We are glad to know that you are happy with the bar. Again, thanks for the great review. Hope to see you again soon!

A revolutionary powerlifting bar at an affordable price.
The B.o.S. Powerlifting Bar is the best Powerlifting bar you can get for under $300. A bold claim, I know, so here’s why having this bar in your gym will put you on a gainz train to muscleville.
Designed explicitly for powerlifting and to meet IPF specs, it is intended for people who’s three favourite words are bench, squat and deadlift.
An aggressive knurl with a bare steel finish gives you a superior grip and will prepare and callous your hands for meet day.
With a 210K PSI tensile strength, 1,500lb weight capacity and snap ring design, the Barenaked powerlifting bar is tough enough for both novice and world-class powerlifters
A thinner block allows for more plates to be loaded onto the bar and less whip, while the ribbed shaft helps prevent plates from shifting while lifting.
A powerlifting barbell differs from an Olympic weightlifting barbell in that it is more rigid to better accommodate the heavier weights. Our power bar is 1mm thicker than the Olympic weightlifting bar and has slightly different markings on the bar. Power bars do not have needle bearing and instead have brass bushing as they don’t really need for the sleeves to spin so freely as they do on Olympic bars.
Please note: being bare steel barbell we take extra precautions to reduce any small oxidization while in storage/transit by coating the barbell in oil. Even still, tiny spots may be visible when receiving. We advise to clean the bar with a microfiber cloth and some simple green cleaner and remove any spots with a BBQ brush.
