To change weights on the NÜOBELL, simply twist in the (+) or (-) direction to add or remove plates, respectively. As you twist the handle, an inner steel rod extends or retracts into the center of the plates — which stay firmly together with dovetail joints.
Yes, the NÜOBELL needs to be in its cradle for the inner gearing to add or remove plates to adjust the weight.
No, the NÜOBELL should NOT be dropped in any circumstance. If they’re dropped, the internal components can be damaged, preventing weight plates from correctly loading or unloading.
The NÜOBELLs have a 2-year warranty. Warranty is void if the dumbbells are dropped.

CAI've had these for a few weeks now. I bought the stand the day after I got them; my advice is don't even try to get away without it. I had the old style of dumbbells with 1" holes and threaded collars for years and never used them, but I've been using these in every work out. I couldn't be happier with them. They are cool looking, easy to use, and seem to be high quality and durable. After the basics of a rack, a bar and weight, and a bench these are the next thing I'd suggest getting for a home gym even before adding a cable system of any kind. Highly recommended.
