Hydra 3 x 3 Inch Squat Stand

Feast your eyes on the fabled 3″ x 3″ squat stand with 5/8″ holes.

So sturdy. So customizable. So very much worth the financial sacrifice for a never-have-to-upgrade power rack. You know what they say though… buy once, cry once.

Scroll down as I take you through the magical journey of building your perfect power rack!

FEATURES • True 3″ x 3″ uprights • 5/8″ holes • 11-gauge steel  • 1,000lb capacity • Black powder coat • Hardware included • Ships unassembled

You own 1 set of cutlery, 3 shirts, and a pair of
(squat) shoes. I get the picture, you’re a minimalist.

And as a faithful disciple, you know that only 1 piece of furniture belongs in your living room — this Squat Stand.

Benefits of the Hydra 3" x 3" Squat Stand

The flat foot design maximizes stability and by connecting both sides together (unlike our separate Squat Stands), you get EVEN MORE sturdiness while avoiding accidental acrobatics. And thanks to the dandy 1-inch hole spacing in the bench zone, your bench set-up will finally match the exquisite optimization of your sock drawer. Plus, this squat stand is portable! Just crouch inside it and grab each upright, then walk it where ya want it — the living room, bathroom, or the cupboard under the stairs… wizardry minimalism knows no bounds.
If you’re a die-hard fan of the metric system, then listen up: the uprights of our Hydra racks measure true 3″ x 3″ which is EXACTLY 76.2mm x 76.2mm, instead of the typical 75mm x 75mm uprights of other brands’ imported racks. By matching the same tubing specs as many of our American competitors who make their racks on US soil *respectfully tips hat*, you can mix and match attachments freely without needing to stick to one brand — hello, open ecosystem! Just be sure to research thoroughly BEFORE you begin the mingling shenanigans, deal?
QUICK! Name three things in life you can’t live without. I’ll go first — pockets, sliced bread, and… a customizable power rack 😎 Choose a pre-made design like you see here or build your own piece-by-piece. You can always add separate components later when you’re ready to expand your unit with weight plate storage, or divide and conquer by splitting your rack into two collegiate-style racks for double the fun. As you can see, we put a lot of thought into this… our mom would be SO proud.

Hydra squat stand

The squat stand works as advertised. The stand was easy to assemble and the stand itself is very strong. I am able to do everything including pull-ups with little to no movement from the squat stand. I'm giving it 4 stars because the fit and finish of the product was about a b-. There were several gouges in the steel as well as inconsistencies in the powder coat. The package arrived with some superficial damage to the feet of my squat stand. None of this impacts the functionality of the stand itself. Overall it is a solid squat stand for your home gym. A suggestion I have is to integrate basic plate storage into the feet of the squat stand. Having two vertical plate pegs would provide more versatility to the squat stand and increase the stability for individuals that don't want to bolt it to the floor. Overall 4 stars

Great Rack at a Great Price, Packaging Could Be Improved

I scoured all the options for racks on the market and eventually settled on the BoS Hydra because it seemed to be the best value 3x3 rack at the 90" height I needed it to be and the base width I needed it to be - not to mention I can easily expand it as my fitness journey progresses. I am mainly using it as a super-expensive pull-up bar for bodyweight and calisthenics exercises right now and it's plenty stable with the 62" flat foot attachments without being bolted down. I really appreciated that I could order the rack without the J-cups that I won't be using anytime soon and not have to pay for that part of the build. I'd have liked the pull-up bar to have a little more texture to it, but that's nothing I can't improve on my own inexpensively. My one and only gripe is the packaging. A couple of the boxes containing the parts arrived in pretty rough shape, with the parts completely exposed and the powdercoating scuffed and chipped. I think the packaging could be improved by increasing the size of the box just a bit and adding a little extra padding around the corners of the uprights so that the sharp edges of them aren't right up against the cardboard and as likely to burst through the cardboard and become entirely exposed during transit.

  • My Fitness Goal Is: I'd like to get back to where I was a few years ago, doing pull-ups at 2x my bodyweight.
