As an older lifter, Covid basically made me hate going to the gym. Over the last 3 years, I have been building our gym, and after much deliberation, this is the last piece to complete our home gym set up.
The Bad: Instructions and installation was a pain. The video helped with the pulleys. The “fit” was TIGHT for our basement (87 inches, machine is 86.7), and we had to be creative to assemble it. It took my wife 30ish minutes to organize all the hardware, as I did not have the patience to sort all the unlabelled screws, but once that was done, I guess it wasn’t the worst thing I have ever done.
The good: The tower is smooth and stable for rows, lat pull downs, tricep push downs, biceps curls, etc. It has made my chest/back workouts and circuit training just as good as the gym used to be. I have a squat rack, functional trainer, and free weights, so this was really the perfect piece to complete our gym.
I think this is the perfect addition to a home gym that is missing a nice, stable lat pulldown that will fit in a shorter space. The chain and extra hookups will make sure your weight stack doesn’t travel too much if you are on the “shorter” end of the spectrum (looking at you honey). I am currently doing 200lbs and it is solid.
