The Bells of Steel Onyx Powerlifting Bar takes our world-famous powerlifting bar and upgrades it with a cerakote finish. This will still get you to Muscleville, but now you’ll be travelling in style.
Intended explicitly for powerlifting and to meet IPF specs, it’s designed for people whose three favorite words are squat, bench and deadlift.

IMPORTANT: For cerakote-coated barbells, added care should be used to avoid abrasive metal-to-metal contact. Tight-fitting collars, weight plates, un-lined landmine attachments and j-cups, etc — these can potentially cut into or wear off the cerakote finish. Taking these extra precautions will preserve that beautiful rust-resistant finish for years to come!

A powerlifting barbell differs from an Olympic weightlifting barbell in that it is more rigid to accommodate the heavier weights better. Our power bar is 1mm thicker than the Olympic weightlifting bar and has slightly different markings on the bar. Power bars do not have needle bearing and instead have brass bushing as they don’t need for the sleeves to spin so freely as they do on Olympic bars.
In the box, you’ll find the barbell itself and a coating of oil in order to further minimize any oxidation during shipping and storage.

USThis is currently my favorite barbell for powerlifting. When it comes to cerakote I've noticed that on a lot of other companies it dulls the knurling. Between having a second hand Barenaked BOS bar and this cerakote version there was no difference. The knurling is fantastic and the cerakote doesn't dull it at all. The bar is also stiff like a powerlifting bar should be and has very little give even when getting up to 5 plates. The only cons I ran into were rust already on the bar which I was able to clean and the cerakote chipping on the shaft where it doesn't even touch the rack. These cons only gave their amazing customer service a time to shine though as they were able to address the issue quickly and offered a replacement or store credit after a few pictures.

CABar is functional however the “cerakote” finish scrapped off when I loaded the very first plate. Also the bearings won’t free spin a single rotation when spun by hand.
Thank you for your feedback, Scott. Unfortunately, a common problem with cerakote is that it can easily be stripped off by steel-on-steel contact. As for the bushings not spinning very well, because this is a powerlifting bar, they are not designed to spin as fast or smoothly as an Olympic lifting bar. I will reach out to you by email as well and we would be happy to exchange your bar for a new one or give you a refund if needed. I apologize that this product did not live up to your expectations. I ordered an onyx cerakote power bar a few months ago I didn’t take it out of the tube until last month it came out of the tube rusted and with the cerakote chipping. I love the feel of the bar and knurling but considering I first had shipping issues with it and then the first time I used it the condition was poor after being stored in a climate controlled setting is extremely disappointing
