The Good: The Tower itself is great. After assembly and then using the mounting braces to attach it to my wall - it's very rigid and solid. There is virtually no flex during use and the pulleys are reasonably smooth, even with minimal weight (5 lbs) on each side. Overall quality is about what you should expect from affordable home equipment at this price point. I'm actually quite pleased with the purchase.
The Bad: Without a doubt - it's the "instructions". Quite honestly, they're the worst instructions I've ever seen. Literally. The instruction-writers should be prosecuted for the needless destruction of the trees that were killed to produce them. In reality they're not even actual instructions - they're essentially a parts-list, and a zoomed-out line drawing/schematic of the tower. Calling them "instructions" is a disservice to actual instructions. After my initial disappointment/frustration from trying to use them as instructions , I was briefly relieved to discover a QR code that links to Online-Video instructions. My heart leapt at the possibility of moving pictures showing me all that I needed see. However My hopes were quickly dashed, as I realized that although there is a nice collection of assembly-videos available with the provided link, none of them pertain to the Cable-tower. I know how to assemble a flat-bench now, though.
Fortunately, I'm reasonably handy - and have assembled other Cable-driven equipment - so I was able to eventually figure everything out, but if this is your first time assembling exercise/cable equipment - be sure and have sufficient blood-pressure medication (or alcohol) in your system prior to tackling.
Bells of Steel - do you and your customers a favor - INSIST that the Chinese manufacturer revise and improve the instructions. They are single-handedly wrecking what could be an overall positive buying experience.
Hi Paul,
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our cable tower. We are happy to hear that overall your experience was positive.
We do agree the instructions need some work and we are actively working on improving them. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we will be sure to fix this in the future.
Yours in strength,
Marcus & the BoS team
