Power Rack 4.1 – Residential By B.o.S.
Rebranded fit505 and amstaff df-1161A
Upon looking at this closer, I can see that this is a rebranded chinese power rack, and it appears to be the exact same as mine from amstaff for 215$. It is still a quality beginner/intermediate rack, but you can get it cheaper.
Hi Jesse, thanks for the review. I can definitely see why you'd think there's some similarity in appearance, but the similarities end there. Here are just a few reasons ours is superior and a bit more expensive: - 2.3 inc x 2.3-inch tubing instead of 2 inch (which means better stability and weight capacity). - Pin pipe safeties instead of single pipe safeties. This means stronger spotter arms and less damage to the bar when repositioning on the safeties, as they roll. - Superior matte black powder coat painting instead of gloss paint. - Single, bare steel pull up bar. - Compatible with 14 different attachments vs 2 attachments. - Optional bolt down feet. - Triple padded jcups instead of double padded. - Lifetime warranty instead of limited 10 years. All these combined make for a superior rack, and a little more expensive. I'll also point out our shipping is usually quite a bit cheaper, and you can pick up free in 11 cities if you order $600 or more. -
Great product, cosmetically damaged
Equipment was high quality, easy to assemble and functional. My rack had some cosmetic damage when it arriver, some small scraps, a missing end cap and most notably a large indentation on the face of one of the uprights. The shipping boxes didn't appear to be to damaged at all which leads to it likely being this way prior to shipping. This doesn't effect the functionality of the equipment and overall the rack is still very good for the price. The bare steel pull up bar is fantastic provides excellent grip and is easy on the hands. However this will have surface corrosion very quickly without proper maintenance, I noticed some rusting as soon as.9 days after assembly, but this is easily kept at bay with some WD 40 and steel wool. Customer service has been very helpful throughout the entire process.
Excellent customer service and quality!
Bought a 72" short residential rack! Unparalleled value! Excellent customer service. I reached out to them to grab some additional parts and everything went brilliantly!
Hey, Thanks for the 5-star rating. This rack is absolutely the best bang for your buck. Again, thank you for the wonderful review. Hope to see you again soon!
Short and sturdy
Was looking for a short option to make use of the pull-up bar in a basement; very glad I found this one! Sturdy and balanced freestanding on a flat floor. Almost no detectible movement at all during pull-ups or when racking weights. The metal spotter arms are a little awkward (and noisy) to put in place, but it's worth it to know that they're there and they're solid. The protective J-cups reposition with ease, are sturdy (EVERY piece of this thing is sturdy) and make un-racking easy for bench and squats. Assembled solo without any difficulties - every piece fit flush. Even though the short (72") version was EXACTLY what I wanted and needed for my location - just know that it is, in person, really quite short. I'm only 5'7" and I need to bend my knees at 90 to do chin-ups from a dead hang.
Hey Andrew, Thank you for the positive review. We are happy to know that the sturdiness of our rack exceeded your expectation. Again, thank you for the awesome review. Lift on!
Great garage gym rack, my only issue is the pull up bar, an option for different coatings would be awesome!
Hey Keiran, Thank you for your great review. We are happy that you liked the rack, we appreciate your feedback regarding the different coating for the pull-up bar. We'll discuss this as a team and consider it in the future. Again thanks for being an awesome customer. Happy lifting.
