By having 1 half of the pull-up bar extra fat at 2 inches and the other standard 1.25″ size, it creates an additional dynamic to your training without taking up additional space. The multiple grips allow you to target a variety of muscles in your back.
With the Light Commercial Power Rack, you have the added benefit of adjustable band pegs on the top and bottom of the rack. This allows you to attach strength bands to your bar and create a variable plane of resistance to help bust through training plateaus. For more training ideas check out coach Poliquin’s site. Now on the 5.1 there is the added benefit of superior hole spacing, with 1” spacing through the bench and pull zone, and 2” spacing above and below allowing for precision when selecting your bar height.
Roller j-cups allow you to safely and easily position your barbell exactly where you need before you start your lift. This is an excellent feature, as repositioning your bar while already down for a bench can cumbersome and even leaves you in an injury prone position.
The nylon sandwich jcups offer full barbell protection and a whopping 880lb weight capacity.
Being a flat foot rack means not having to bolt to the floor (although this rack can be bolted to the floor), while also having a larger contact surface area making the rack sturdier for racking and unracking your bar.
For the 5.1 we moved the curved bracket at the back to be on the floor, to create even more contact on the floor.
Trying to line up your j-cups/spotter straps even can be a real pain. But with our laser numbers every 5 holes, it makes adjustments a lot easier.
We source our straps from an actual tow strap factory and they’re rated to 4,400lbs weight capacity, these straps will save your bar when doing hang cleans/pin pulls/lockout presses and are the next step up in safety. By setting the straps higher on the benching end, it creates a safe spot to dump on the bench, without interfering with your range of motion.
Straps are also ideal for those training in sound sensitive gyms. Never wake up your kids or neighbours again when you miss a squat, as the safety straps are super stealth. A power rack, also known as a power cage, or squat rack, allows you to efficiently and safely perform a number of barbell exercises. Our power racks have adjustable j-hooks that allow you to set the height of the bar, for example, setting them to a squat height or bench height, and safety catches that prevent the weight from going beyond a certain point. Here is a breakdown of the major benefits realized from using the light commercial power rack.
If you train alone, it’s imperative that you do so safely. When exercising there should never be any hesitation in dumping a loaded bar. Your safety is the number one priority. The safety catches allow you to do this, saving your health, and preventing any serious damage to your floor.
Since you can adjust the safety bars to any height, power racks give you the ability to precisely train any part of your lift. For instance, if you want to work on the top part of your deadlift pull, you can set the straps to a specific height.
Safety doesn’t just keep you from getting hurt; it creates the peace of mind that comes from that. That is, you can add that extra weight to the bar or attempt to push through one more rep because you don’t need to worry about getting pinned under the barbell.
Bench, squat and chin ups are the main exercises you can do, and by adding the optional cable attachment you can do triceps press downs, lat pulldowns, seated rows and more.

CAHighly recommended on every front; quality, price, service - the perfect sweet spot. Moved to a new house with attached garage, and did a ton of research on squat racks before making my decision. Have been telling everyone I know about Bells of Steel. Considered going cheaper with some alternative brands, but saw a ton of pictures online ppl being shipped damaged or missing items etc - also considered going 'top of the line' with the big brand names, but those are way more expensive. This light commercial rack is designed just right; it can handle more weight than I will ever throw at it, and feels rock solid. Build quality is top notch, everything was packed nicely in mint condition. I picked up my order in person to save on shipping, everything fit in a minivan no problem. Assembly was straight forward, the instructional videos online made things even easier. My socket wrench set isn't big enough for the heavy duty bolts used, but I was able to put everything together on my own using two regular wrenches - took a little while but it was a satisfying project to complete. Now I am into Week 5 of my workout routine, using this rack 5 days/week. Absolutely love it. I'm following an AthleanX program called Monster Maker which covers a huge variety of exercises, and lets you repeat the same 3 month total body routine with a different specific muscle group 'target area', so it hits harder on the area of choice (started with Legs focus). I've used barbells on both sets of uprights & free outside the rack, the lat pulldown in multiple ways, the multi-grip pull-up bar is awesome, dip attachment rock solid, landmine attachment smooth and solid, 3-in-1 plyo box, flat bench (already had an old adjustable one) .. literally have used pretty much every function available from the rack and accessories I ordered & they are all great. Not only that but customer service is also great, Tyler & Eric online, and I didn't catch names in person but all were very helpful. Eric went above & beyond answering questions for me - he shipped my zip clips that were out of stock, and even provided a store credit after because there was a sale right after I placed my order. I was pretty sure this would be a 10/10 right away, but wanted to put in some use first - now I can definitely say, from every angle, it's a big 10/10 !

USI love the sturdiness of the rack seems like it will last for a long time. The spacing of each hole makes it easy to adjust the j-cups to my preferred height. The only complaint that I have is the powder coating that is used comes of easily. I have only used my rack twice since I bought it and the coating is starting to come off when I accidentally scrap the bar on the rack. I wish the coating on the rack was better quality making it last longer. I'm gonna have to find something to protect it so that it doesn't rust.

USHands down the best decision I have ever made designing my home gym was purchasing Bells of Steel light commercial rack and a plethora of attachments( Lat row, dip bar, lever arms, etc). The functionality is endless and I’m able to get the perfect workout for every body part any day of the week. The construction is superior. I would recommend Bells of Steel if your thinking of taking your home gym from mediocre to amazing!
